The Farboud GTS is an evolution of the GT, a car that is not only powerful and spectacular to the eye but could also be driven everyday encompassing all the pleasures of driving a sports car.
The thought process when developing the GTS included a powerful engine, lightweight high-tech construction of chassis and body, lightweight race type seating, powerful brakes, efficient aerodynamics and cooling all wrapped in an aggressive and beautiful styled body. Combine this with easy door entry, limited overhangs, good all round visability and you get the Farboud GTS.
The chassis is an aluminum tub with a steel rail cradle. An aluminum honeycomb center tub is used for further stiffness as in most modern day racing cars. The steel system has been designed to run the full length of the car to provide maximum rigidity and minimum weight. Rigidity is achieved by 2 rails and many triangulations. The engine is set in a triangular steel bay set on rubber bushings to avoid passenger cockpit vibration.
The GTS is constructed from Advanced Composites Z-preg carbon fiber. These composites are further strengthened with Kevlar and honeycomb sheets.
The GTS achieves CD results of 0.36 and 0.37. All ground effect devices have been proven in the wind tunnel, including the rear diffuser and the front splitter. Many hours of wind tunnel testing and CFD testing have resulted in the efficient and beautiful styling of the GTS.
The interior of the GTS includes the use of carbon fiber, leather and aluminum. These materials are true to their nature as being stylish, attractive, and lightweight. The interior of the car follows the same these as the outside of the car, with flowing lines and simplicity; beauty as well as aggressive racing touches.
Air conditioning and stereo are standard equipment for maximum driver enjoyment. Traction control and power settings are found on the steering wheel for quick and easy setting.
