Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation founded by Michio Suzuki in 1909 and the 12th largest automobile manufacturer in the world. The automaker specializes in manufacturing compact automobiles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), a full range of motorcycles, outboard marine engines, wheelchairs and a variety of other small internal combustion engines, it employs over 45,000 people, has 35 main production facilities in 23 countries and 133 distributors in 192 countries.

Despite the success of the new type of weaving machine invented by Michio Suzuki in 1929, and then-innovative liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder engine, Suzuki realized it had to diversify production in order to fit the customer demand.
