Gilles Dupré, editor-in-chief of the French automobile magazine Echappement and Michel Hommell has teamed up during the early 1990s to create the 21th century Alpine.
The result was the Berlinette, launched in 1994. This low-volume rear-wheel-drive 2-seater sportscar is now feared to disappear from the scene as the tiny outfit can't cope with the stringent environmental regulations.
