Ford is threatened to recall 1,7 million mini-wagons
NHTS begun the investigation on the facts of ignition the mini wagons Ford Windstar, put on the market in 1995. By Motor Trend reports, the investigation result could be the recall of about 1,7 million such cars.
At the moment the NHTSA Organisation got 130 complaints from the Ford Windstar mini wagons owners. It is assumed that the cause of the fire is the switch of cruise-control system, by this imperfection the American auto producer, beginning with 1999 until last year recalled more than 10 million cars. Earlier it was reported that the fire was caused by these overheat switchs.
In his turn the representative Jennifer Moore mentioned that the switch cruise-control was installed differently than the cars produced earlier, and don’t have permanent power supply. That’s why the company thinks that the cause isn’t the cruise-control. The exact account will be established after the NHTSA investigation.
