McDonalds is goig to produce biofuels

Mariana Puzderi / Chișnău / Moldova.ORG/ -- The worldwide known fast-food chain McDonalds goes in the auto industry, more precisely, in the sphere of car fuel production.

The McDonald's company, in collaboration with a private company from the UAE, is planning to produce biofuels.
The "waste" oil for cooking hamburgers and potato fries is supposed to be used as raw material for automobile fuel. According to the "RIA Novosti" agency, referring to the local media, McDonalds has already agreed of opening a joint venture with Neutral Fuels LLC.
The plant's capacity is going to be 1 million liters of biodiesel per year. It is assumed that biofuels from the used oil will be consumed by trucks with diesel engines.

The companies plan to establish a direct supply of biofuels to businesses that operate trucks. The McDonalds chain trucks will be the first to experience its own bio-fuel.
"This will significantly reduce the need for imported diesel fuel," - the Neutral Fuels representative said, without specifying exactly how much they will save by means of the new project.

The company representative said that 1 liter of oil will generate 1 liter of biofuel.
