Skoda returns to production line “the first” Octavia
Skoda Company plans to recommence in 2010 the production of the first generation of Octavia. By Auto Express reports, the car being produced in 1998, 10 years later will be sold less than 20 thousand USA dollars, and its competitors will be Kia and Hyundai models.
Regardless that Skoda keeps silence about this project, the british press have already discovered some details. So, Octavia will be sold in Europe, and also in developing markets, for example in China. The car will not be the exact copy of the earlier model. Some design elements and construction will be adopted by SEAT Bolero, its premiere will be hold in a Paris Auto Show. Octavia will be equipped with electric window raiser and air-conditioner, and will be powered by a 1,9 litre diesel and 2,0 litre benzine engine of the Volkswagen Group concern. There are also possible the engine equipment more compact and economical.
Octavia is not the single car which Skoda is preparing. The next year to the public will be presented the version Yeti 4X4, and also the modified Octavia second generation. By 2010 the Czech Company plans to show the universal Superb and 7 places mini wagon.
