Volvo V70 and S80 get new sporty engine
Volvo Company enlarged their engine productions for the cars V70 and S80 with a 2,5 litres turbo-engine Flexifuel. It is able to work with bio-ethanol E-85 (composed from 85% spirit and 15% benzine), natural 95-m benzine or a mixture of these two kinds of petrol, regardless proportions. That’s the information from the official company reports.
New engine’s power, equipped with an auto or mechanic gear shift lever, has 200 hp. By company’s reports, car’s consumption of petrol for a impure cycle is of 9,2 liter for the mechanic gear shift lever and 10,2 liter for auto gear shift lever. Working with bio-ethanol, petrol’s consumption grows with 30-40 %.
Volvo V70 and S80 with its sporty engine have already appeared on sale in the European Markets. In the Sweden Company was planned to sale about 20 thousand “Bioethanol” cars.
The first engine for Volvo V70 and S80, able to work bioethanol E85, appeared in the engine gamut last year. It was a 2 litre atmospheric aggregate powered by 145 hp. For the other versions, also planned 125-powerful engine Flexifuel, with a capacity of 1,8 litre.
