Toyota builds plant to produce accumulators for hybrid cars
|
Toyota Company in collaboration with the Company Matsushita Industrial, one of the most famous brand as Panasonic, started in the Japanese prefecture Shizuoka to build a new plant to create special accumulators for hybrid cars.
There are no details about the new plant. There are rumors that the enterprise plans to produce nickel accumulators similar with those used for Toyota Prius. The investment in the building plant is about 192 million dollars.
As Nikkei press informs, Toyota Company also plans to build one more plant in Japan, where in 2010 will start to produce lithium-ion batteries for the new generation of hybrid cars. At their turns the Toyota Company representatives tell that there aren’t a decisive decision about this plant construction. 
It is also important, that another Japanese auto producer – Nissan – at the beginning of last week mentioned that next year in partnership with NEC will produce in their own factory the mass production of lithium battery. It is planned that the first commodity of battery cars Nissan will appear in USA and Japan in 2010.
